Let me introduce myself, if you do not already know me. I am Steve Brooks and am proud to say I was elected to serve as your President at the board meeting following Thursday’s annual membership meeting. Most of you know my nephew Joel Kaspereit who lives with my wife Tracy and me. At that meeting Lawrence Odom was elected Vice-President, Mary Odom - Secretary and Linda Crosby (at least on an interim bases) - Treasurer. There are many changes happening with ASP and we look forward to each of you being a part.
As Linda announced, we will have a general membership meeting on Thursday, November 17, 7:00pm at Epworth UMC, at which time we will begin looking at the formation of committees, as she has been preparing us for. While this list may not be complete or all inclusive, we will begin with:
· Program Activities Committee
· Quality Assurance & Problem Resolution Committee
· Budget, Finance & Audit Committee
· Membership Committee
· Fundraising & Marketing Committee
· Long Range Planning Committee
· Special Connexion I Program Committee (Will include Staff)
· Special Connexion II Program Committee (Will include Staff)
Please be considering where you might want to serve!
- October is the time to renew your annual membership with ASP. The membership dues are $25.00 per family membership. If you have not renewed, please see Bobbie Andress and she will happily update your membership. Also, please update any email or phone number changes.
- If you would prefer to pay online with a credit card, you can do so with our Donate button at the ASP website. In checking out the donor has to pay a 5% tax deductible fee ($1.25) to Network for Good. That way ASP gets the full $25 and does not have to pay a credit card fee. Put “ Annual Membership” in the optional designation field. http://advocatesforspecialpeople.org/donate.html
- Volleyball practice starts Tuesday, Oct. 25th – Location: Pantego Christian Academy, 2201 W Park Row Drive | Arlington, TX 76013. (November 1 will be back at Lockwood)
- ASP’s Halloween Party is Saturday, Oct. 29th 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. (Remember to bring 2 Liter Drinks and snacks to share, and a canned good for Mission Arlington.)
